Matthew 1-2
Matthew 1-2
The first two chapters discusses the genealogy and the birth of Jesus Christ. There were Fourteen generations in all from Abraham to David. Mary is to marry Joseph, but she was already pregnant through the Holy Sprit. During that time, the law allowed women to be executed for adultery. Joseph could have done so, but he obeyed the angles message. Joseph received three angelic message in dreams. First he was called to care for a wife he never slept with and a child who was not his. Then he was ordered to flee to Egypt. Finally an angle told him to return home. Joseph was a good man who follow orders and treated his son as his own. I believe we all should listen to our heart and listen to the Lord, who will guide us to do the right things.

Bonsitu,
God bless you for posting this discussion. Truly Joseph is a good/kind hearted and righteous man. He has all the right to expose her and many people would have considered it a righteous act. Praise God that she was engaged to a good hearted godly man. It always inspires and challenge me how he handled his condition. He just wanted to disassociate what he considered is unholy but did not sick revenge. When we think others hurt us and we have all the right to have them punished or exposed, it teaches us to take the kinder route. It goes with the verse that says, “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 7:12 NIV
“And her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly.” Mat.1:19
P.S. Bonstiu, God bless you for your faithfulness. I had a busy week, but was reading your posts and God was speaking to me through them. Thank you.
