Deuteronomy
As I was reading Deuteronomy 2: 33-34 33 “the Lord our God delivered him over to us and we struck him down, together with his sons and his whole army.” This is what I quickly jotted down on my note pad: Did God give them power and strength to destroy men, women, children? All the path and struggles they endure, Is it to reach the "Promised Land"? Our God is a good God, how can that be?? As I continued to read through, I answered my own question. It’s written in Deuteronomy 7:4 You see God has no mercy for those who turn his people away from his commands and allow them to worship other Gods. He is our LORD GOD and by destroying those who hated him, his love for us lives on forever and ever!!!
Deuteronomy 5 shows the importance of the ten commandments. God mad a covenant with us. In order for us to live a prosperous life, we need to live by his commandments. Our God knows what is best for us, so let us not wonder but walk with him and follow him as he opens our hearts to do what he has commanded us to do.

Thanks for sharing what you have learned with us. God is truly teaching you and guiding you "our God is good, how can that be?" It is a question many times asked when destruction happens.
As you said our God is good, and He is also holy and just. He is also big. Sometimes we may not understand things fully, but we need to believe that He is Holy there is no darkness in Him. There are verses that indicates nations were destroyed and expelled because of thier sin, disobediance...
As you said there are many verses later on Deutronomy that shows how God does not want any influneces of sin. The passage also tells me how God is serious about His plans and how He deals with things that are trying to destruct us from our destination/His plan for us.
Here are few from Exodus and Deutronomy :
Exodus 34:12 "Be very careful never to make a treaty with the people who live in the land where you are going. If you do, you will follow their evil ways and be trapped."
Deuteronomy 7:16 You must destroy all the peoples the LORD your God gives over to you. Do not look on them with pity and do not serve their gods, for that will be a snare to you.
Deuteronomy 12:30 and after they have been destroyed before you, be careful not to be ensnared by inquiring about their gods, saying, "How do these nations serve their gods? We will do the same."
Greetings Bonsi,
Very good points on Deutronomy. I randomly happened to read your notes, and I see that the Lord is teaching you how firm His love has been towards His chosen ones. Isn't it a great blessing to be loved by Him, with the Love never fails. To Him be the glory! Keep reading His Word = keep living a real life. Bless you more.
